DENVER — For the fourth consecutive Summer season Olympics, Workforce USA can be sending a roster that includes extra girls than males.
The U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee introduced the 592-member contingent Wednesday that’s heading to the Paris Olympics 2024 later this month. The lineup options 314 girls and 278 males, spanning ages from 16 to 59 and with 46 states represented.
There are 66 Olympic champions who’ve earned a mixed 110 gold medals and three five-time Olympians, together with basketball standout Diana Taurasi together with equestrians Steffen Peters and McLain Ward.

The opening ceremony in Paris takes place on July 26, with athletes assembling in boats that sail alongside the Seine River towards the Eiffel Tower. Competitors kicks off July 24 and ends Aug. 11.
Workforce USA is the favourite to prime the medal desk, with Nielsen’s Gracenote forecasting 123 medals, with 37 of them gold.

“As they put together to characterize our nation on the best stage in all of sports activities, we honor their private achievements and have a good time the unwavering help of the those who make it potential — their households, teammates, nationwide governing our bodies, coaches, and communities across the nation,” USOPC CEO Sarah Hirshland stated in a press release. “Within the true spirit of ‘One for All,’ we be part of a proud nation of followers in cheering them on by means of inspiring performances and unforgettable moments.”
Age hole
There are a trio of 16-year-olds heading to Paris, with creative gymnast Hezly Rivera the youngest of the bunch. The oldest athlete is Peters at 59.
Embellished medalists
Swimmer Katie Ledecky leads Workforce USA with 10 Olympic medals, together with seven golds and three silvers. Subsequent on the listing are gymnast Simone Biles and swimmer Caeleb Dressel with seven medals apiece, whereas swimmer Ryan Murphy has six medals.
State breakdown
California leads the way in which by sending 120 athletes. That’s adopted by Florida (42) and Texas (41). There are three athletes who listing hometowns which are overseas — crusing’s Ian Barrows is from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; soccer’s Maximilian Dietz from Frankfurt, Germany, and water polo’s Luca Cupido from Santa Margherita Ligure, Italy.

School system
Of the 592 athletes heading to Paris, 75% of them competed on the school stage. There are 15 groups which are made up fully of athletes who performed in school. That pertains to girls’s basketball, males’s and girls’s 3×3 basketball, seaside volleyball, males’s and girls’s indoor volleyball, diving, fencing, girls’s area hockey, girls’s rugby, fashionable pentathlon, males’s and girls’s water polo, rowing and triathlon.

Household ties
Workforce USA stated there are a minimum of a half-dozen set of siblings on the roster. They embrace Annie and Kerry Xu (badminton), Brooke and Emma DeBerdine (area hockey), Alex and Aaron Shackell (swimming), Gretchen and Alex Walsh (swimming), Juliette and Isabella Whittaker (observe and area) and Chase and Ryder Dodd (water polo).
